This route introduces us to the beautiful native beech and oak forests of Upper Nansa. When we reach the hills, spectacular panoramic views of the Polaciones valley, Picos de Europa, Palentina Mountain, Peña Sagra, Peña Labra ... where in addition to enjoying ourselves, we will learn to "read" the landscape and interpret what we see.
During the walk we will take the opportunity to identify some tree species and recognize signs of the presence of local fauna. Among these places we have the privilege of having the last brown bears of the Cantabrian mountain range, and with the wolves, both authentic signs of identity that increase the environmental value of the place, and that have accompanied these societies since their origins.
There will also be an opportunity to learn about some aspects of the toponymy, history and life of Nansa. Our paths are an invitation to discover an ancestral culture, not to let the extensive knowledge accumulated by many generations fall into oblivion.
Under the shade of the beech trees we stop to eat (picnic) while we contemplate the fantastic Peña Sagra mountain range. From here we begin the descent following the banks of the Pejanda and La Guariza streams, until we return to Belmonte.
