TOUR DESCRIPTION
Feel the excitement of a canoe excursion on the Asón River, fall in love with the landscape of the Collados del Asón National Park and discover one of the most important caves in Ramales de la Victoria.
First, we will visit the cave of Cullalvera. This cave has a magnificent entrance that stands out, emerging from a lush of Cantabrian holm oak of great ecological value. Inside the cave, you will enjoy the natural show of the sounds of the cave's water, light, and shadows. This is indeed one of the most important caves in the region. During the visit, you will learn about the history of this cave and of other caves in the area.
Alternatively, you could visit the Covalanas cave, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 due to its prehistoric paintings. To access this cave, you have to take an uphill walking tour that lasts about 20 minutes. Moreover, the visit to this cave is subject to availability (entrance tickets are very restricted, that's why you have to book well in advance if you want to visit this cave in high season).
Second, we will do a scenic drive tour through the Collados del Asón nature park. There you will see waterfalls, forests, and cows. You will definitively enjoy the panoramic views left by this natural and spectacular area of Cantabria.
Finally, you will make a canoe descent on the Ason river (8km - duration 2.5 hours approx). It will be a fun experience and for which you do not need previous experience but it is a route of medium difficulty with some small jumps to make the route more exciting.
It will be an intense and fun day that you will not forget.
