On this guided tour of Comillas, you will discover one of the most charming towns in Cantabria, rich in history and heritage. Accompanied by an expert guide, we will stroll through its streets to learn about the history of Comillas and the important legacy of the Marquis of Comillas, a key figure in the town’s transformation during the 19th century.

The tour begins in the heart of the historic centre, where we will walk through Corro San Pedro, once the social hub of the town. From there, we will continue to Puerta de los Pájaros and Casa Moro, two emblematic sites that showcase the architectural richness of this historic Cantabrian town.

During the visit we will also reach the Santa Lucía Viewpoint, one of the best viewpoints in Comillas, offering stunning views of the Cantabrian Sea. Along the way, we will discover other notable buildings such as Casa del Duque, Casa de la Portilla and Casa Ocejo, examples of the splendour the town experienced thanks to the influence of important families and patrons.

The route continues to the surroundings of the Pontifical Seminary of Comillas, one of the most monumental architectural complexes in northern Spain, which played a major role in the town’s history and cultural development.

The tour concludes with a visit to Gaudí’s Capricho in Comillas, one of the most unique works of European Modernism. This remarkable building, designed by Antoni Gaudí in the early years of his career, is one of the few works by the architect that can be visited outside Catalonia and is one of the must-see attractions in Cantabria.

During the activity, we propose you to visit the interior of the Capricho de Gaudí building to discover its architectural details. After the guide’s explanation, you will have time to explore Gaudí’s Capricho and its gardens at your own pace, enjoying one of the most original masterpieces of Modernism.
