Enjoy a fascinating day exploring Bilbao and Castro Urdiales with us! 
 

Your day will begin with an early departure from Santander to Bilbao, one of the most vibrant and history-filled cities in northern Spain.

Once in Bilbao, we will take a 2.5 hour guided tour of the charming Old Town. Along the way, we will tell you all about the rich culture and traditions of this wonderful region. You will stroll through lively streets and discover architectural gems such as the Arriaga Theater, known as “the Spanish Mozart”, and the beautiful church of San Nicolas, and don't forget to stop at the famous Plaza Nueva, where you can enjoy one of the most beloved “bilbainadas”!
 

We will also take you to the Plaza de Miguel de Unamuno, where history and literature intertwine, and you will be surprised to learn that some phrases attributed to this great writer were never uttered by him. We will continue our tour of the “Botxo”, as the locals affectionately call their city, exploring the Seven Streets, a place full of history and charm. 

After marveling at the Cathedral of Santiago, we will take you to the banks of the Nervion estuary to visit the Mercado de la Ribera, a place that holds a European record! And to top off your adventure in Bilbao, you'll have almost 4 hours free- time at your leisure to enjoy the local gastronomy or wander the streets, although we suggest you enjoy a boat ride on the river or explore the iconic Guggenheim Museum.

But that's not all, the adventure continues! After our visit to Bilbao, we will head to Castro Urdiales, a picturesque town in Cantabria full of charm and tradition.

In Castro Urdiales we will tour its impressive historical complex formed by the Gothic church of Santa María de la Asunción, the castle-lighthouse of Santa Ana, and the medieval bridge, outstanding monuments of this historic center of narrow cobblestone streets and traditional houses that reflect the rich seafaring and medieval history of the town.

The company reserves the right to cancel the trip if the group does not reach the minimum number of participants or if the weather conditions are not favorable. In such a case, you would be given the option of a full refund or a change of tour date.

  • For groups of at least 4 people, we can do this excursion on other days outside the program (only from 11/15 to 06/15). Always subject to availability and keeping the tour open to other reservations.
