TOUR DESCRIPTION
We will drive to the region of Liébana,one of the most beautiful in Cantabria. On our way, we will cross towns, forests and the famous Hermida gorge.
Our first stop will be at the Monastery of Santo Toribio, one of the four holy places of Christianity. The importance of this monastery is due to the fact that houses the Lignum Crucis, which is the largest piece of wood from the Cross of Jesus that is preserved.
Afterwards, we will head to Fuente Dé, place where the cable car station is located. Here you will enjoy free time to get to know the area, make a horseback riding route or take the cable car to go to the upper station as you wish. The cable car ride will last 4 minutes and will take you to a height of 1,823m above sea level. There you can enjoy impressive views and explore the closest surroundings of the station.
Around 2:40 p.m. we will arrive at Potes, capital of Liébana and considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. This town stands out for its cobbled streets, its bridges and its medieval Tower, which is called Torre del Infantado. In Potes we will stop for lunch (not included); as the town is small and usually very busy, we strongly recommend that you reserve a restaurant in advance.
After the lunch break and before resuming our return trip, we will meet again to do a short walking tour around the river where we wil also learn a little more about this town, its bridges and its river path.
